CB&I has comprehensive EPC capabilities in the delayed coking market. Through Lummus Technology, we also provide proprietary delayed coking technology that emphasizes high reliability and flexibility while meeting rigorous environmental and safety requirements. CB&I's delayed coking capabilities include:
Safety. CB&I's Short Cycle Switching System was developed to address issues that impact the decoking cycle. The system is an integrated, computer controlled, decoking process that links essential parameters. It enhances the safe operation of the unit by providing computer-controlled quench rates. Higher potential warm-up temperatures decrease stresses and cracking. The minimization or elimination of pressure swings in coke drums reduces foamovers and antifoam requirements.
Reliability. CB&I has extensive experience in the replacement and installation of coke drums. The company's innovative Vertical Plate Coke DrumTM technology reduces circumferential welds, increasing reliability by extending the life of the drums.
Delayed Coking Technology. Lummus Technology's delayed coking technology combined with CB&I's experience with delayed coking projects provides the company with significant differentiation in the delayed coking market.
EPFC. CB&I provides a single point of accountability for grass roots or revamp engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction projects globally. In addition to our proven track record of EPFC projects, we have developed a modular design for a typical two-drum coker that consists of 76 truckable modules, providing an opportunity to bring the benefits of modularization to the delayed coking market. With the addition of Lummus, our EPFC resources have increased tremendously worldwide.
