Lummus Technology Heat Transfer (LHT) has built more than 3,000 fired process heaters for applications such as steam reformers, visbreaker heaters, delayed cokers, crude and vacuum heaters, hydrocrackers, catalytic reformers, and EDC (ethylene dichloride) crackers. Steam reformers include applications in ammonia, methanol, hydrogen, and towngas plants, and for the reduction of iron ore. LHT has supplied more than 50 heaters for visbreaking projects, using the Shell Soaker Visbreaking process that is jointly licensed by LHT and Shell.

LHT delayed cokers represent a large percentage of the world's existing cokers. LHT provides coking technology for conventional delayed coking as well as needle and superneedle coke. These cokers have a high on-stream time and are cost-effective and efficient. LHT has also built crude and vacuum heaters with absorbed duties as high as 120 MW. We offer several types of charge heaters, including horizontal tube single or double cabin type, and box type with single and double fired vertical tubes.

LHT has designed and built hydrocrackers with pressures as high as 325 bar, and temperatures up to 550 degrees Celsius. We have built more than 100 catalytic reformer heaters with efficiencies over 90 percent. LHT also provides fired heaters for EDC cracking, with conversions of 50-65 percent.
